Ferry Service Launched:
A new freight ferry service has been launched between Liverpool and Dublin, consolidating the Mersey's position as the major gateway for Irish Sea trade. Celtic Link Ferries said it planned to introduce a second vessel to server twice by mid-summer. Capacity of 70 Trailers: The service from Liverpool's Brocklebank Dock to Terminal 4 on Dublin's Alexandra Road, is managed by Celtic Star with a capacity of 70 trailers and accommodation for up to 12 accompanying drivers. The vessel has a similar capacity. Mr Tyrrell said, "We believe there is a niche for another freight service between Liverpool and Dublin. Although our ships can carry accompanying drivers, we offer a trailer unaccompanied mainly through the Irish Sea."
